We absolutely LOVE our big, red Tamworth pigs!

The drove of Tamworth at Providence Farm enjoy a life in the outdoors, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year long.

Tamworth are active foragers, using their significant snout to root around searching for food. They are athletic and lean. 

​

Our hogs work in tandem with goats to help clear areas on the farm that are adversely affected by a proliferation of non-native invasive plants, such as English ivy, that are choking out native plants. Carefully managed, the pigs do a lot to improve the soil and promote a healthy habitat. 

Tamworth are also docile, lovely dispositioned pigs.

They are easy to handle and move around the farm.
